Title

Mark's coconut grater

Description

Mark talks about using this handmade coconut grater, a very common item in Guyana.

“This humble coconut grater is very common in Guyana. It’s handmade. What happens is you sit on the wooden part of it, the end with the metal bit sticks out, you have a basin at the bottom of the chair, and as you grate the coconut, the kernel falls into the bowl. It’s very useful, it grates it really fine and it’s lovely!”

Recorded during an online workshop in July 2020.
