Alt text

A black and white photograph showing an older man and four young children on board a punting ferry between the banks of the river. The older man, in a jumper and trousers, stands and holds a barge pole with which to steer the ferry. Two of the children stand behind the man on the ferry, while the other two lean over the front of the vessel, one of whom trails their hands in the water. A tall hedge with a gap for entrance and huts appearing over the top of it can be seen on the bank behind the ferry (the infrastructure of Tumbling Bay bathing place).
