Alt text

Three collage and blackout poetry postcards.

1. Torn images of water, rocks, flowers and trees layered on top of one another form the background. Two paragraphs of black-out poetry are on top of the background. The balck-out text causes the poem to read: 'I could not swim confidence. Swimming to adopt quite naturally. As soon as accustomed to the feel of the water, stroke [break]. If you begin begin well. With a rush. Jump'.

2. Torn up photographs form a collage. In the centre is a large image of a pinkish leaf on top of a blue background (possibly water). Surrounding the leaf and forming a square are torn up images; from top left: an orange sunset over water; a birds-eye view of a person wild swimming; a person wild-swimming in choppy dark water; pebbles on a shore; a sunset/sunrise over water, with a seabird stood on some rocks silhouetted in the foreground; trees on the shore of some water; sand, seen from underwater; an orange sunset; a person in water, holding onto a floatie, smiling at the camera and wearing a bobble hat; a birds-eye view of a river between two banks; snow-covered trees on the bank of an icy river; icy water; an orange floatie in the middle of the water.

3. A headline poem, which reads: 'Nature or nurture? Open water swimming has both. Ducks and clear skies; silver waters and while streams. Safe and free outdoor swimming is the future in our dreams. The poem is followed by a cut-out photograph of a person wearing a swimming cap and goggles floating on their back in water.
